Prerequisites

  • Bobsled Account: You must have access to Bobsled’s main application and the Sledhouse tab/feature enabled in your environment


Step 1: Log in to Bobsled

  1. Using your credentials, log in to your Bobsled environment. Depending on your role, what you can see and do may be slightly different.

Step 2: Set up a data source

  1. From the left sidebar, choose data sources

  2. Click the button to ‘add source’.

  3. Follow the setup wizard, and once you’re done, click Save. Once a successful connection is established, Bobsled will start indexing your data source. Learn more about data sources

TIP:
Setting up sources in Bobsled may require special permissions or provisioning. Make sure you confirm which prerequisites are required when setting up your data source.

Step 3: Set up a Sledhouse Table

  1. From the left sidebar, select Sledhouse Table

  2. Click the Create Sledhouse Table button.

  3. Follow the wizard, and once you’re done, click ‘Save’. Once a Sledhouse Table has been successfully synced, you are now ready to start defining Data Products. For more in-depth information, visit the Create and manage a Sledhouse Table guide.

TIP:
Creating a Sledhouse Table in Bobsled may require a deeper understanding of Bobsled replication patterns. If you are unsure, please contact your sales team to support you.

Step 4: Define a Data Product

  1. From the left sidebar, select Data Product

  2. Click the Define Data Product button.

  3. Bobsled offers two ways to define your Data Product: a no-code Query Designer or a SQL editor. Choose the option that best fits your workflow and follow the wizard. Once you're satisfied with the structure, click Save to continue. For more in-depth information, visit the Create and manage a Data Product guide.

TIP:
While in the studio, clicking the ‘run’ button will return a sample of 100 rows of your Data Product, and a count of the total rows.

Step 5: Set up a Data Consumer

  1. From the left sidebar, select Data Fulfillment

  2. Click the ‘+ Data Consumer’ button.

  3. Follow the wizard, select an initial destination for your data consumer, and their preferred access credentials. Once happy, click ‘done’. For more in-depth information, visit the Create and manage a Data Consumer guide.

Step 6: Share data with your Data Consumer

  1. From your newly set up Data Consumer detail page, click ‘+ Share data

  2. Select the Data Products you wish to share, and click ‘Continue’.

  3. Optionally, locate and select the ‘Customize Data Product icon to bring up the customization studio. Just like defining a Data Product, Bobsled offers two ways to define your customization. Once happy, click ‘save’ and optionally select the target name.

  4. Once satisfied with your Data Consumer fulfillment, click ‘share’. For more in-depth information, visit the Fufilling Data Products guide.

Step 7: Monitor the Data Products shared

  1. Once your data share is fulfilled, click on ‘Access Data’

  2. Bobsled will display the share details—such as a Snowflake private list details or S3 paths—so you can pass them along to your consumers. Learn more about how to consume data on the Destinations guides
