In Bobsled, a consumer organization references the organization where data is transferred. Learn how to create and manage consumer organizations.
Overview
Adding a consumer organization to a share is not required but brings the following benefits:
Easier to manage your Shares by filtering and sorting by a consumer organization, and also confirm how many shares have been created with that consumer.
If you have multi-tenant filtering enabled for your environment, the consumer organization details will be used to filter views.
Shares that do not have a consumer organization selected count as a distinct Monthly Active Consumer (MAC) concerning billing. Multiple shares with the same consumer would only count once toward the Monthly Active Consumer count.
NOTE:
Currently, there is no relationship between a Consumer organization and any Access methods (such as ARNs or Snowflake accounts) in a given share. Reach out to your account team if you have any questions or require more information.
