Consuming a data transfer in Databricks (Open Sharing)

Prerequisites

  • Before consuming a data transfer, a data transfer must be sent to the destination and access must be configured using the Open Sharing option.


For accessing data via Databricks UI

  1. Open the Databricks credential file link and download the credential file.

  2. Log in to Databricks UI with the workspace that has access to the share.

  3. Using the sidebar, navigate to Catalog, and then select Delta Sharing

  1. Under "Shared With Me", select the provider "Import provider directly" in the bottom center of the window.

  1. In the Import provider window, enter a provider name and drag the downloaded credential file to where it says ‘Drop share file here’, and select ‘Import’

  1. Create a catalog and you are ready to query the data!
